Emergency Shelter

Emmaus offers emergency shelter for both families and individuals. We provide a place to sleep and support services to help those who are homeless find stable housing.

Shelter for Families

Emmaus Family Shelter

The Emmaus Family Shelter program provides emergency shelter for up to 54 homeless families at one time in congregate shelter and apartments. Up to 26 families live with dignity and respect in shared suites in the Emmaus Family House and join together for meals, meetings, and group activities in the spacious common area located on the first floor. Up to 28 families reside in their own or shared apartments where they prepare their own meals.

Our caring, multicultural staff promotes self-reliance from the time each family enters the program. The program provides an extensive base of both professional and volunteer supports that assist our families in moving ahead toward self-sufficiency. The overarching goal is to prepare each family to live in independent, permanent affordable housing.
