Thank YOU for a Very Successful #GivingTuesday 2016

THANK YOU to all who supported Emmaus on #GivingTuesday! Thanks to more than 40 donors, we raised close to $14,000!

The money raised yesterday will be used to help more than 4,000 children, women and men who seek our help each year. We are a local organization, helping local people, and every dollar makes a difference.

A special thank you to Haverhill Bank who, for the second year in a row, matched the first $1,500 raised on #GivingTuesday.

We can say thank you a million times over, but there are some special people at Emmaus who wished to take a moment to tell you how much your support means to them.

Light the Tree of Love

You still have the opportunity to help Emmaus this holiday season.  The Emmaus Tree of Love is a shining example of the love and compassion our donors, friends and volunteers show toward those in greatest need–the 300 children, women and men who call Emmaus “home” each night. Every gift made to Emmaus during this holiday season will symbolically light one light on our 25-foot tree.

Since 1985, Emmaus has helped more than 27,000 children and adults out of homelessness and toward self-sufficiency. Last year we served 1,575 children through our shelters and housing programs, served 80,000 meals to our shelter residents and placed 488 households into permanent housing.

But we can’t do it alone!

We need YOUR HELP to continue to provide care and services to society’s most-vulnerable. We hope during the dscn6177holiday season that you choose to give to Emmaus.

When you donate, your gift will help us do the following:

$500 will help Emmaus move a family into their own apartment.

$200 will provide a nutritious meal for 28 families at the Emmaus Family House.

$100 will pay for diapers and formula for a newborn baby.

$50 will supply groceries for a family moving into their own apartment.

$30 will keep a homeless adult off the streets and safely sheltered at Mitch’s Place for one night.
**92 cents of every dollar we raise goes directly into program services. The money you donate stays local and helps local people.
