The Merrimack Valley Credit Union has recently presented Emmaus with a $30,000 gift.
One of Emmaus’ largest corporate supporters, the MVCU has supported Emmaus for more than 20 years.
“The Merrimack Valley Credit Union is an incredible supporter of the work we do each day at Emmaus,” said Emmaus’s Executive Director Jeanine Murphy. “Under the leadership of Peter Matthews, this contribution will save lives.”
Murphy added that this gift from MVCU comes at, “a particularly difficult time” especially for the agency’s emergency shelter for single men and women, Mitch’s Place, as long-term public funding sources have been diminished or eliminated.
“With this remarkable gift from the MVCU, we know that Emmaus we will continue to be there for each person arriving at our door,” she said.
The Merrimack Valley Credit Union also supports Emmaus by holding food drives in its branches and through volunteering at the agency.
“The work Emmaus has been able to do with the most-vulnerable populations in our communities is astounding,” said MVCU President CEO Peter Matthews. “They have developed programs for men, women, and children that not only work towards getting a roof over their heads, but also equip them with the tools they need to rebuild their lives. Merrimack Valley Credit Union is proud to make this annual contribution and be a part of this organization that has influenced so many lives in this region.”
