On Monday, January 16, 2017, Emmaus will host a Resource Fair and Family Theater event to commemorate of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The event will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church in Haverhill (26 White Street). This free event will be open to families with children from both Emmaus programs and members of the community.
Participants will also be given a hot meal and will go home with a backpack containing healthy lifestyle items.

We need your help to make this day a success! We have opportunities to volunteer both on the day of the event, as well as throughout the week before.
January 11th: Come for a work night to prepare backpacks and signage at 101 Winter Street, Haverhill, from 5-8 p.m.
January 15th: Assist with event set-up at Trinity Episcopal Church, 26 White Street, Haverhill, in the afternoon following church services.
January 16th: On the day of the event we are looking for volunteers to help register families, prepare and serve the community meal, set up for and clean up after the event, create props for the play, and help compile the Healthy Family Backpacks. We need volunteers during the hours of 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Volunteers for the day of the event will receive a FREE MLK Volunteer T-shirt.
The resource fair will be located on the top floor of the Trinity Episcopal Church from 10AM-Noon, followed by a free hot lunch, and an interactive children’s theater performance on the first floor. Free Reiki sessions and eye screenings will also be available during the event. The first 130 families to register will receive a bag filled with personal care items for the winter. In addition, attendees can be entered into a raffle for the opportunity to win a 2-month family membership to the Haverhill YMCA and yoga classes at the Yoga Tree Studio in Haverhill.
This event is presented by Emmaus, and sponsored by Emmaus, the Massachusetts Service Alliance, AmeriCorps, and the Corporation for National Service.
