The Local Bike Clubs and Group Ride Calendars
Most Bike Clubs welcome non-member riders,
you normally need to sign a waiver and make sure you check the club's ride
description for pace, terrain and distance. Don't show up for a hammer
fest if you are a leisurely rider.
Other opportunities to ride, meet other
cyclists and prepare for Cycle for Shelter are available via
The Cycle Loft
America by Bicycle

With only
one Training Ride Leader the
biggest issue is dividing a
training group into sub-groups based on their riding goals- 100, 62, 50
or 20 miles by the fourth Sunday in July. The main focus of the ETT is
to prepare riders for the 100 and 62 mile routes.
Are you an experienced
rider who can help Jeff Russell by leading rides to help
participants prepare for the 50 and 20 mile routes?
Jeff will offer advice
and routes.
In the meantime, Jeff
will offer training tips and lead some shorter rides for our Weekend
Warriors and Half Century riders and will communicate the schedule
by e-mail so if you do not receive communications from
emmausrides@comcast.net please
send an e-mail now asking to be added to the distribution list .
We strongly encourage
local riders to checkout
the North Shore Cyclists. They have arrowed routes all over northern
Essex Co. and every Sunday the group has a different ride. They
welcome guests, there are slow as well as fast riders. This is good
practice learning to follow arrowed routes.
Participants coming from
other areas will likely have equivalent resources available.
